When is a measured response just another way of ignoring the shadow elements of our personality?

By Maria Teresa Faaberg.......DEFENDING and/or ALLOWING. When is a measured response just another way of ignoring the shadow elements of our personality? -Anyone?....................

  • ANSWERED BY OZAY.......Sorry Maria I did not answer this ...correctly above so I will answer it again as I do not think anyone else will answer it for you. The answer is a simple one when you know this one thing most people are pleasure seekers and seek pleasure at the cost of displeasure, this makes most responses therefore lopsided because most are only seeking pleasure from responses or even from action, if most people did not only seek pleasure in life and took the whole and could see that the pursuit of happiness for instance always brings with it the other polarity that is unhappiness, so because life is lopsided due to this pursuit of pleasure, if one instead pursues the answer to having peace then ignorance gets left behind and the whole thing is seen, as it is not as the pleasure seeker wishes it to be for gratifications, so you see all the time this happens ie you pursue happiness then you ignore that truth of polarities.See More

  • Ozay Rinpoche in order to have pleasure one must give pleasure also, and it is here hidden and repressed where displeasures occur ie the shadow personality that you mention. For where there is pleasure there will always be displeasure= shadow personality.

There is one happiness one can pursue, this form of happiness will come from inner peace, to pursue happiness from other things such as people to people, ego to ego, polishing ego etc, pursuit of materiality all of those things when accompl...ished generate momentarily pleasure, here is where one has to learn to control, this again is where shadow elements come in, for as soon as control is lost so is happiness lost, it become unhappiness, and because the true nature of life is CHANGE then it is impossible for this form of happiness to be a permanent feature
